How motor experiences shape early cognitive development
The Institute of Psychology, Department of Performance Psychology, invites to a guest talk of Prof. Gudrun Schwarzer. She is head of the Developmental Psychology Department at the University of Gießen.
"We have invited Prof. Gudrun Schwarzer because of her impressive work on motor-cognitive development aiming at a better understanding of how infants and children come about to act effectively in the world", says Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dr. Markus Raab, Head of the Department of Performance Psychology. In her developmental work, she integrates cognitive paradigms as well as methods from movement science (e.g., movement kinematics) to explain the complex interaction between motor and cognitive processes.
