IOC Olympic Education Commission

This year's meeting of the IOC Olympic Education Commission took place in Lausanne from November 23 to 24. The focus was on the topics Olympic Values Education Overview and Role, Olympic Culture and Heritage 3.0, Olympic Studies Centre and Implementing OVEP (Olympic Values Education Programme).

Since 2015, the head of the Institute of Sport History, Professor Stephan Wassong, has been a member of the commission. As spokesperson of the Olympic Studies Centre working group, he reported on the teaching and research activities of the Olympic Studies Centre at the German Sport University Cologne. In addition, there was an opportunity to present the recently revised curriculum of the M.A. Olympic studies to the members of various IOC commissions. A presentation of great importance, according to Professor Wassong, to further strengthen the successful positioning of the study program and the cooperation with the International Olympic Committee.
