Research funding through the Badminton World Federation (BWF)
The Institute of Professional Sport Education and Sport Qualifications has been awarded with the BWF funding for their project "A comprehensive analysis of the Rally-Point-System from 2006 to 2017: effects on game characteristics in top-level Badminton matches“.
Jun.-Prof. Dr. Tobias Vogt, head of the Institute: "We are pleased to realize the project through the support of the BWF".
Daniel Hoffmann, who coordinates the research project, summarises the research goals of the project as follows: "Our focus in teaching and research is always to continuously optimise the education in the field of Badminton. This project now makes it possible for the first time to analyse the changes of game characteristica during the whole period of the Rally-Point-System. This can be a very important first step to draw conclusions for the education of Badminton in the future."
First results are expected next year at the ECSS 2018 in Dublin.
