Europe as an important multidimensional space in a globalized world shows very different concepts of 'sport' in different historical, social, political and economic contexts. Taking Luxembourg as an example, whose complex social situation characterized by multilingualism shows fundamental structural similarities to the European level and can thus be regarded as a European microcosm, theses can be written here that deal with sport or the development of sport in the Grand Duchy.

The theses can deal specifically with the development of individual sports (also in comparison) and athletes, as well as with sport-political and identity-related aspects and the significance and impact of the complex language situation on sport in Luxembourg and its relations in the European context.
