DEAL Project
The goal of DEAL Project is to conclude nationwide licensing agreements for the entire portfolio of electronic journals from major academic publishers. Also the intention is to achieve an open access component. The effects of a consortium agreement at the national level should relieve the financial burden on individual institutions and provide improved access to scholarly literature for academics.
Several hundred institutions (such as universities, universities of applied sciences, research institutions, state and regional libraries) have agreed to participate in such a DEAL licence.
The Central Library for Sport Sciences will not purchase the licences to electronic content of 17 Elsevier journals, the physical copies of those are still available to view in our reading rooms.
