Appointment to the IOC Olympic Education Commission

Professor Stephan Wassong, Head of the Institute for Sport History and Director of the Olympic Studies Centre (OSC), has been appointed to the IOC Olympic Education Commission for the third time in a row. The appointments are renewed every year as IOC President Thomas Bach discusses the commission´s compositions with their respective chair persons. In the case of the IOC Olympic Education Commission, the chair is IOC member Barry Maister (New Zealand). Professor Wassong explained that the appointment will create possibilities to connect the academic initiatives of the Olympic Studies Centre Cologne internationally which allows the expansion of its Olympic Education projects.
