Inauguration of Pierre de Coubertin Statue in Olympia

On the occasion of the 60^th anniversary of the International Olympic Academy (IOA), the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee (CIPC) (http://www.coubertin.org) donated a statue of the founder of the modern Olympic Games, Pierre de Coubertin (1863-1937). As president of the CIPC, Prof. Wassong presented the statue to the IOA. This took place on 17^th October 2021 as part of the celebration of the re-opening of the renovated IOA. The president of the IOA, Isidoros Kouvelos, appreciated the donation of the statue in his speech for the anniversary celebration in the presence of IOC president Bach and members of the IOC executive. The statue is centrally placed in the atrium of the IOA auditorium building.
