Third Module of the 9th Intake of MA Olympic Studies

On September 30th, the 9th cohort of the MA Olympic Studies Programme commenced their third module. The 25 international participants are attending the module "Governance, Policy, and Olympic Organisations," taught by Emeritus Professor Thierry Zintz, from the Université catholique de Louvain.

Professor Zintz, a member of both the Education Commission of the International Olympic Committee and the Standing Committee for Education of the World Anti-Doping Agency, brings extensive expertise to the course. He is joined by Professor Stephan Wassong, the Programme Director, who also delivered a session on key historical aspects of the Olympic Movement. As fellow members of the IOC's Education Commission, both Professors Zintz and Wassong offer unparalleled insights into the governance structure of the Olympic Movement.

The module will explore the ecosystem in which International Federations (IFs), National Olympic Committees (NOCs), and other stakeholders operate, with discussions on good governance, fundamental principles, and IOC reforms. Additional guest lectures throughout the week will provide diverse perspectives on governance and policy within the Olympic context.
