Profile

Dr. Mai Geisen received her Bachelor's degree in Applied Exercise Science from the University of Regensburg. From 2016 to 2017, she studied 'Sports and Exercise Science' as part of a semester abroad at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. In 2020, she obtained her Master's degree in 'Psychology in Sport and Exercise' at the German Sport University Cologne (GSU). In 2024 she completed her PhD on the topic 'Exploration of Innovative Methods for Complex Skill Learning'. Since the beginning of 2025, she has been working as a post-doc at the Institute of Exercise Training and Sport Informatics, Department of Cognition in Team Sports. Her areas of responsibility there mainly relate to the research and development of innovative, sports motor learning and analysis methods. With regard to her work on knowledge and technology transfer, she was awarded 1st place in the Promoter Think Tank for “Digital Applications for Education and Mediation in Sport” at the GSU in 2022. Mai Geisen has experience in the application and project coordination of third-party funded projects and the associated management and implementation of several scientific studies.
