International reception of Cologne´s universities
Jens Kleinert, Vice President at GSU, welcomed all international students and guest researchers on behalf of all Cologne´s universities in the city hall of Cologne.
On Thursday last week, the mayor of Cologne welcomed approx. 400 international students and guest researchers in the historic city hall of Cologne. Besides the mayor, Professor Dr. Jens Kleinert, Vice President of Studies and Teaching, welcomed all guests on behalf of Cologne´s universities. Jörg Schmitz, manager of the "Kölner Studierendenwerk" humorously explained the most important terms and rules of the Cologne lifestyle. Eventually, Louwrens Langevoort, head of the philharmonic orchestra in Cologne, invited all international students and guest researchers to engage with the cultural life of Cologne and not to take their studies "too seriously".
The event ended with a pleasent gathering, fingerfood and drinks, where all students and researchers could connect with each other and obtain valuable information about their stay in Cologne.
